 ste7510 try this firm they do kits for most cars www.mad-suspension.co.uk i used them to alter the suspension on my kia carens, hope this helps.

I fitted the M A D spring assisters to our Picasso when we needed to carry my wife's invalid buggy in the boot.

They improved the suspension and as well as reducing sag they gave less roll on corners.

They fit between the rear suspension arm and the bump stop.

I have the M A D uprated variable rate springs on the X-Trail now as well.

   They were recommended by the Citroen agent

Has fitting the springs to the x-trail made any difference? Did you fit them yourself and how much?

The M A D springs for the Piccasso 8 years ago cost about £80

The ones for the X Trail have reduced rear end sag so that the outfit now rides almost level (slight nose down---looks right) without detracting from the ride.

They are part no HV-314248 and cost £177.68 inc V A T and postage from M A D.

I got them via Demon Tweeks at Wrexham but had to quote the part no to them.

They fitted them while I waited and the total cost of parts and labour was £225

Are the springs DIY, Im pretty handy in that area.

I definately need to stiffen the back springs Im amazed how much the back does sag

M A D recommend getting them fitted as a spring compressor is needed.

When I asked at a local tyre dealer the request for fitting "Lodged" on deaf ears.

They said it depended on if they had the correct type of spring compressor

Which is tyre speak for go forth and multiply we only do jobs that we want.

Demon Tweeks at Wrexham did a first class job for less than £50

I usually do all my own D I Y but do not begrudge paying this once 

Have you thought of trying doughnuts they are much cheaper but I haven't tried them myself.

I will go with your system John. I often pull a heavy tailer as well as the caravan.

When I enquired 6months ago most firms didn't bother to reply or said that nothing was yet available.

M A D replied straight away with part nos etc and I am very happy with the result

Ste you can fit them youself .

You just jack the rear wheel up and remove the wheel.

The suspension then hangs down so that the spring can be fitted round the bump stop at the top and onto a bracket that you fit onto the suspension arm.

I seem to remember using a scissor jack to push the suspension arm down a little to give the clearance needed to get the spring in.
