Hi Les, thanks to you and Margaret, let us know what you end up with and how you get on with it, had another look at the C4 picasso when we were in the showroom! Next time! lol
The salesman was telling me that several of the xsara Picasso models will not be available but that they intend to keep a few on the market as there has been a lot of feedback from customers who find the sloon too small and the C4 Picasso to big. We will have to see what they end up doing, as cars go i still think the Xsara is ahead of quite a few of the opposition and if the fuel comsumption on my first 35miles is anything to go by then I am sure they have to still be top of the energy saving list!

We are sticking with potatoes, so many different ways to cook them! lol

Two armrests in the front of mine - one each! There goes another argument! lol!!!

As easter is so close it looks like we will opt for a static, our wee caravan has a broken window and the prices i have been quoted for a safety glass window to replace it have so far been very high. If I can't get a cheaper one then it may be a sheet of perspex for now and possibly a search for another old Thomson, still haven't seen anything newer that makes me feel as at home as the Thomson always has! Maybe I am just to fussy when it comes to a tradesmans finish, or it could be cos they where made in Scotland! (-;

Health is slowly on the up. A day at a time and things will get there!

Lol Skatty, looks like i will just have to roll along to the handwash place every couple of weeks lol! The colour is sort of wierd isn't it, depending on where its parked and the weather it tends to take on different shades, ours has the grey and tan interior as well which looks really impressive. Think I might have to get a car gazeebo for the summer months to keep the birds off it! lol

Nice one and what a great choice of colour!  Yes I have the light beige velour seats as well and everyone has been warned. the only member of the family that has not been in it yet is the dog!!! She keeps looking for the old cr and then spots us sneaking out in the shiny new one (well it was when it had a wash last) I had thought of seat covers and will probably go for a set of the heavy duty ones for the back, probably three front ones would be best, anyone else fitted seat covers yet?
As you say the noise at first was a bit more than I am used to but having had deisels when they were comparatively new in the car world I can honestly say they are much quieter than I remeber. I think that on the motorway at 60 they are actually very quiet, stereo can be heard as low as no 5.
Do you have the tan bit across the dash from one side to the other and roughly in the middle from top to bottom of the dash, my mate who has had a Picasso for a few years now didn't have that and he was soooooo jealous! Then again he was jealous of all the extras in the exclusive that we have. He is due to replace his in June/July and has been looking at getting another, dealer doesn't see any problem and was saying that they are going to be selling them for a while yet. Hopefully for a long while as I have taken a real shine to mine, I would go as far as saying it is the best car I have had in a long time.

BTW re the quarter window and its restriction, I have found that it is actually not very bad, I reckon it has a lot more visibility in the front than the Meriva had.

As you can tell by the length of this post " I am Smitten!" LOL

Well had the picaso just over a week now and loving it as much as  the other we had (no need to fight over the arm rests ) one each!!!! actauly have covered up at the mo...just a question, we have put our old waterproof nylon covers on..but of course there are side impact airbags!! not sure if any one else aware of this little problem, thinking of cutting down the side of the seat cover in order for the air bag to work(hope i wont ever need to test it) went on long trip 57 miles up towards lake district solo and motorway..when i checked the mileage it was !!!!!!!!  61   wowwwww brill..around town i am getting between 43_47  very short journeys, plenty of junctions etc ..hubby says still bit of hard ride in the back (the naughty chair) lol

but so far so good.....Still saving up for towbar....best go n stir the beans!! lol

Re the seat covers, still not covered ours up but I think that if you did cut an opening it should allow the airbags to work if you ever needed them (hopefully never).
Mileage sounds about the same as ours, not done many long journeys but the motor goes in for its 1000 mile service on Tuesday! Still to fill to the brim with derv which we shall do next week before heading up to Killin for Easter, that will then give me the opportunity to run it down again and see what the over all mileage works out at. We are certainly not paying out as much for fuel as we did with the Meriva and we are still doing about the same running about! Average journeys are around 15miles with all kinds of roads/speeds used!

I have Picasso 2HDI 90bhp max tow 1300kg  for the past 2 years towed prev van 1100kg no problem

got 30 -35 mpg towing 48 mpg without van. I got new van april 06  but due to ill health only managed away once last year went to berwick.towed ok average 30mpg

new van very near max tow but it towed fine..could do with a bit more power was so I was looking for Kia Carens as well but too expensive.  The weight of your van will tow no problem with picasso. as to the pillars they are a bit of a nuisance but overall I like mine..

Hi Tommy,

This coming weekend I'm picking up my first caravan a (Bailey 460/4 MRO 972 MTPLM 1184) from Duncans of Wishaw. I'm going to be towing it for the first time behind my Picasso 2HDI (90bhp). Any tips would be appreciated, I was a little worried about power and weights, but since most of my kit is going in the car, should easily get my ALW to 85% 1100kg. Driving back to Musselburgh over easier A71, instead of motorway. But going to have to cope with Motorway incline on Edinburgh bypass. Hope the Picasso copes :-) Are you reasonably happy with your setup? Thanks...
