Hello mate. I have owned a Vectra 1.9CDTI SRI for 2 years now,and it tows like a dream.150bhp and 1545 kg in weight,I cant fault its towing performance.With my Eldiss Avante 540 hitched up i get 29 mpg at a steady 60ish.

I Have a 2.0 dti (Vectra B) and it tows like a train, in fact it tows better than the 4x4 that I had before it!

THanks guys stuck between mondeo 2.0tdci and vectra suppose see whats the best deal on offer must say the 1.8 vectra we had has towed well just van is too heavy for it but we knew last year when we changed van we would be swapping the car but we got 12 out of the vectra and touch wood no probs thanks for your input its much appreciated

Mk3 Mondeo will out drive a Vectra all day long. much nicer to drive, superb handling . Some of the motoring mags reckon a Mondeo is better to drive than a 3 series BMW.Dunno, never drove the Beemer but it sure goes better than a Vectra.

Not a chance! The Mondeo is outdated and basic and it definately don't go better than a Vectra!

thanks guys have gone for the mondeo 2ltr tdci simply because it was the right price right mileage and on tow safe it matched our van also we have just had a vectra and to be honst with you it was not heavy enough and had done 105000 on clock as it was petrol it was pushing it a bit so before we tow we decided to change it has been a good car fingers crosed the mondeo will be too hopefully after listening to you guys we hope we have made the right descision   THANKS  to all who have replied its nice to hear views from other caravanners
