Many years ago Cirtoen BXs were slated on the surveys, I drove them from 1984 to 1996, without a single breakdown, indexes and surveys don't always tell the whole story and people who are disgruntled sometimes can use them to let off steam.  - JUST and opinion! NOT a criticism!

It's also worth noting that manufacturer's individual models can vary greatly. eg petrol to diesel, turbo engines to non-turbo etc, manual to auto.  So much also depends on the quality of the dealership.

I bought a 2007 2.7 diesel A6 Avante last year and is the best car I have ever had by a mile. It is a good weight and pulls like a train. I have to try not to forget I have the van behind!

I get about 28mpg towing steadily and would highly recommend.
