Hi Loopy
Well Anne was a bit confused that I had phoned there to book. She was under the impression that it is normally booked through UKCS like the way its been done the past 2 years. I explained what the email said once I had registerd interest and she just said that maybe the system had been changed and she had not yet been told about it. She said she had a phonecall from someone else from UKCS trying to book with the same procedures as me. Anyeay she took my £30 deposit by card over the phone and said she would check and get back to me if any probs. Not heard anythin so hoping all is OK. I did wonder whether this new way of booking had been introduced because of late cancelling and no shows etc. Are there problems then Loopy? Will you be coming on this one?
Cath Gentry,
Have been the last 2 years to this Meet at Deer Park and love it. I have 2 girls who next July will be 8 and 6. All the kids and grownups mix well and get on. Its a goodun. Would recommend booking.
Emma

Hi All,
The other person may have been me, I spoke to an answering machine today, but thought it may have been during dinner break, so rang again
this afternoon, but still no answer, I'm hoping they get back to me so I can pay my deposit to ensure my place.
This will be my first meet, I wanted to join you last year, but could only get a non elec pitch as I booked a bit late. I needed elec. to charge my scooter batteries, I didn't feel that I could turn up on a first meet in the hope that I could find someone who wouldn't mind 'plugging in' for me.
I tried to explain, but couldn't have made myself clear enough, because I then noticed I was on the list, I tried to get it clarified, in the end, I didn't go. I was dissapointed, but now of course I'm worried that I may have been part of the problem as to why the proceedure has had to be changed.
I can only apologise, it wasn't clear to me, perhaps it should have been, but there, that's how it was. I'm truely not the sort of person to let people down.
Anyway, you all seem a jolly lot, so I'm really hoping to get on board with you and join in the fun, I'm a bit shy at first though.
Avril

Thank You SO MUCH Loopy,
You've put a song in my heart.
I'd only joined the club just before, so didn't really know how to go about things.
I've been trying to paste a big smiley for you, but it won't work.
I'll keep trying with the booking though.
Avril
Hopefully we will meet you there
A bit personal, but do you drive or is it your OH? I just ask because although the campsite is lovely, the pavements going off site aren't brilliant, i was nervous walking my daughter to the local park.
If you wish to go anywhere there is a bus stop right outside the campsite but not sure how frequent buses are or where they go to.
Maybe Pete can shed some light on this?

Loopy,
Booking problems entirely down to me - I forgot to tell Anne about the changes in procedure. Anyone wanting to book should now be able to do so without further hitch.
Couple of points to mention,
firstly - the deposit being paid is non-refundable - I need to mention this to avoid any confusion later on
secondly - the site is now closed for the winter, Anne checks the ansaphone twice a day and calls back if a number is left,
The walk to the park along the main road can indeed be perilous - but we do have a top exit as well ( didn't I mention this.....) which has a footpath all the way down to the park.
Am looking forward to next season - we had a nightmare last summer, the day after you guys left the main water pipe in the village sprang a leak and we had terrible problems with the shower block as a result, it took 5 weeks to fix. This year we are using our own spring - the borehole is being done as we sit here.
Buses along once an hour and pretty reliable - if more than 3 people its cheaper to get a taxi.
Regards
Ps Loopy, you may hear from a guy called Rob who lives down your way - he had a bit of a 'mare down here last month - turned up with family after everywhere shut - thought his wife was going to murder him, let him stay on site and it was really cold - I didn't want to charge him but he insisted! Told him about the ukcs and rally etc so hopefully he will be back, really nice family
