Held at the Elvaston Castle Country Park for 30 years, the steam rally promises to be fun day out for all the family. You can expect a varied display of steam vehicles including fair organs, tractors, miniature steam engines and much more. For the little ones there is children's entertainment, plus so much more..
You can find full details of this brilliant event, which raises a lot of money for charity here
I can now confirm the dates for the actual rally are 3rd & 4th July 2010. Camping / caravanning is from Friday 2nd July from 12 noon to Monday 5th July at 12 noon.

Should anyone wish to attend and not pre book then the standard non booked charge of £40 will apply.
Bookings will be through the P O Box as in previous years and is now open April and close on Saturday 19th June. Please don't send any bookings prior to the start date. There's plenty of room for everyone!

A balanced life is a glass of wine in each hand :O)
Sorry for the delay, everyone. Dave usually liaises with Steve but he's quite poorly at the mo so poor Steve has had to sort it all out by himself.
We're now fine for gate staff, thank you but if ayone wants to organise any entertainment for the kids that would be smashing. I know this has been discussed on the previous Elvaston thread.
Our next Elvaston meeting is 20th April so will be given P O Box bookings then and keep this thread up to date with applications recieved.
Thank you for your interest and we look forward to seeing our UKCS friends "old" and new.
Hi Geoff, yes, long time dude. I didn't make Elvaston last year, I was on a stag do, but was there the year before and hoping to make it again this year.
Sorry, Bobsbabes, you need TWO envelopes! One to send your booking to the P O Box and another UNSTAMPED envelope with your name and address on so that you can collect your tickets on arrival!
Without doubt some forgetters WERE genuine, we were afraid others weren't hence having to change the system. There was also another scam [or two] people tried on, won't share it for obvious reasons! Hopefully the new system will prevent all or most of it.
It's awful really when you think all that "stolen" money should have gone to charity. None of the committee or helpers benefit from all the hard work so anyone who didn't pay was, effectively, stealing from those less fortunate who, last year, include Rainbows Children's Hospice and Derby Breathe Easy which supports people [like me] with life limiting lung disease. We also support stroke units and cancer care.
