Held at the Elvaston Castle Country Park for 31 years, the steam rally promises to be fun day out for all the family. You can expect a varied display of steam vehicles including fair organs, tractors, miniature steam engines and much more. For the little ones there is children's entertainment, plus so much more..
You can find full details of this brilliant event, which raises a lot of money for charity here
I can now confirm the dates for the actual rally are 1st to 3rd July 2011. Camping / caravanning is from Friday 1st July from 12 noon to Monday 4th July at 12 noon.
The very special advance booking price to UKCampsite.co.uk Members will be £32 which includes the 3 nights camping in any type of tent, caravans or motorhomes, and admission to the rally on both days and Saturday night for 2 adults and their children. The cost for single campers will be £20.
Bookings will be through the P O Box as in previous years and is now open April and close on 18th June.
There will be a shower block on site again but this may be a coin operated unit. There will be the usual toilets and water available from Friday afternoon.
To qualify for the Exclusive UKCampsite.co.uk Members rate for this show, you must use the booking form below, any other booking form will not qualify for the reduced rate
If there are more than 2 adults in your party the extra adults will be required to pay normal steam rally admission charges at the gate.
On arrival you will be given a camping and parking permit and weekend wristbands for unlimited admission to both days of the steam rally. The weekend wristbands are also valid for the Saturday evening. (Children under 5 are free and do not need a wristband)
The booking forms have been prepared and confirmed as OK by Pam and the team at Elvaston and the link to download the booking form can be found below.
Advanced bookings closed on 25th June, but you can still go, just turn up and pay on the gate. For more info see http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/articles/view.asp?id=475 for when you can arrive etc.

If you mean loos then no, cos I never found them! I was pitched in the far field, away from the main gathering of UKCS members (as that's where I personally chose to pitch) and I had my own loo so no need to use any on site. I did walk round the main section a couple of times but never saw any loos - I'm sure there must have been some somewhere though, maybe further up the field.

thanks, i'm sure there'l be lots more said about it in the coming months. only been motor homing a short while and tend to wildcamp, but now from experiencing a few sites , feel like there are some very important things, water mainly, that you need to know about.

the facilities are basic .plenty of fresh water though showers (only during certain periods think cos of needing genny to work them )and toilets available never saw a queue for them .waste point was available near the loos
as you went into the camping field the loos etc were on the left hand side of the field

Good Morning All
To clarify the facilities available on the public camping site at Elvaston Steam Rally:
Tardis toilet Units are provided in the field.
Elsan Disposal is available.
Fresh Water is available.
Waste water disposal.
Previous years a shower unit has been available (we hope to provise this again in 2011)
Rubbish disposal.
Toilet, waste and water facilities are also available on the main site to which campers have full access over the weekend.
Booking usually commences after Easter and I will clarify this will be the same for 2011 at our next meeting onFebruary 15th.
Hope this will be of help to anyone attending for the first time, we look forward to seeing you.

Is it okay to book for 2 caravans when it opens we have been few times before and a friend wants to come with there van but they don't have a internet so are not members of UK camp?
