Hi every one, just been going through my shed and just found my cubmaster tent witch i put in there last summer, after finding it at my local recycling centre.
If any one has any information on these would be great full, cant find much on the internet. Have pics but not sure how to add them.

hi pete..I don't know anything about them..so please excuse my ignorance .do you mean a canvas bell tent which I used to call a scout tent/girl guide tent..have a look on a site called the canvas tent shop ..they do a wide range of cotton related tents..yours may be there and they could offer you some advise...good luck ..stewey camperman

its a bit like a old force 10 tent I think and found this on an old post....... Hi, i have come across a cubmaster tent in an old caravan, i was hoping someone might know how to put it up, it has two small bags of poles and the tent has an outer part and a inner cotton part, it looks like a pole goes up the middle and the tent looks like it will be a triangler prism shape (like a toblerone).

any ideas
Sounds like it might be a Blacks Good Companion or maybe even an Itisa (can't remember the manufacturer) .. yeah, they called the tent 'Itisa' as is "what's that?' "it is a tent"
The Itisa is quite rare! If it is either of these you've had some good luck, if the tent is in good condition you've had some bl&&dy good luck ... buy a Lotto ticket. ;) ;) ;)
That's about all I could find.

do ey call them ridge tents..try you tube for any tiops on erecting them I rthink a vango storm may be similar..good luck

My first Scout camp was in a Blacks Good Companion, my first Venture Scout expedition was in an Itisa.
They are similar tents, with an "A" pole inside the flysheet and above the inner tent. Both are 3 man tents in a "wigwam" style.
Something like this only smaller:

In 1966 the Scout Association stopped having Cub and Scout Masters and had leaders instead. So unless this tent is very old it is not a Scout Shops tent.

There was a Japanese camping equipment manufacturer in the 1970's called Cobmaster, they mostly made nylon packs, perhaps check your spelling.

Boys Scouts of America still retain the Scout & Cub Master titles and the tent could be American, perhaps made by Diamond the authorised BSA manufacturer. They tended to make ridge tents in cotton calling them wall tents with pole supported walls. (Like the tents in MASH)

It could well be Cobmaster as it has a nylon fly sheet and a cotton inner tent. It has the emblem with the bear and rucksack, but cant make out if its cub or cob! lovely little tent I would only say room for two though and not much head room at back as the pole slopes from front to back. Wish I could up load some pics!!

Don't think we will use it as have the Maritsa 700 as a family tent, only came across this one as we were up are recycling centre looking for pegs and saw this old tent bag and found some pegs in it but wouldn't just let let me have pegs....so I said how much for all...£5 he said, so took it home and opened it expecting to find a broken tent and to my surprise the tent was in really good condition!! must be find of the year for me

Yep well done, the blue bird feeder at the back of the tent is actually a swing ball just behind lol.
