Despite his Landrover Defender being considerably larger than my Renault Capture I suspect that he'd probably need 2 Landrover Defender's to get all that kit there.

The item that most impressed me was the indoor gas fire pit, not only did it impress me it terrified me, shut the tent door and nod off and you die of carbon monoxide poisoning or the tent catches fire or both. Bringing an outdoor wood burning fire pit as well seems excessive.

He had rather a lot of lights both a paraffin pressure Tilley lamp and lots of battery electric lights, this was overkill yet he didn't seem to have brought a decent torch.

A large part of his tent was filled by a large inflatable sofa, yet he also had a comfortable camp chair, once again duplication of kit. The inflatable sofa filled a large space in the tent, if he'd left the sofa at home he could have used a smaller tent which would have been easier ti heat.

This tent doesn't have a porch area so he was cooking and eating inside the main tent, this brand new tent with it's white carpets is going to get pretty disgusting quite rapidly.

His huge tablet computer will use a large amount of power, he had a battery unit in the tent but even that won't last long if he intends to use the tablet for ambience, why would he want the tablet showing an ambient fire when he has a real fire in the tent? A nine inch tablet, a Kindle and a folding 20W solar panel is all you need.

He's got all this super amazing kit but he's forgotten to bring a cool box or fridge to keep fresh food in, doesn't he have milk, wine or beer?

The one thing I've never thought of taking camping is a mini wireless hair drier. He could have pumped up his toys with the compressor he inflated the tent with. He used the hair drier to dry his trainers but they'll get get the moment he steps out of the tent again. So once again he's duplicating his kit and carrying junk he doesn't need.

In conclusion, get a smaller tent, a smaller car and leave all the junk at home!

Should have had a wee clock running in the corner.

-------------
2024 = 18 sites / 38 nights. 2023 = 9/23. 2022 = 13/35. 2021 = 11/29. 2020 = 4/20. 2019 = 13/35. 2018 = 20/33. 2017 = 10/22. 2016 = 19/33. 2015 = 15 sites / 27 nights. Didn't count 1976 to 2014.

Bonkers.

Every time there was a shot of the outside of the tent, I was trying to see whether our luxury camper had pegged out the guy ropes. If not, as soon as any wind blew up I'm sure he'd have been struggling to keep his little 'house on the prairie' from taking flight! Though I guess all that extraneous clobber would have weighted it down.

White carpet! I chuckled out loud when he got his little hoover out to give it the once over!

So, security-wise, what would he do to protect all his swish equipment if he wanted a day out somewhere? All a bit vulnerable in a tent.

The only thing I saw the guy unpack which made me remotely envious was the hanging rack for his clothes. Wouldn't be room for one in my tent anyway, but a handy bit of kit if you do have the space. My clothes don't usually make it out of my rucksack, until such time as I need it.

With all his equipment, one thing I didn't notice him unpack was a camping toilet? Or a wash bowl? Although it looked as though he was wild camping, maybe he was actually on a full facilities camp.

It's staged and too idyllic, not real life!

Gas fires inside the tent would worry me.

I would love to see how that tent performs in real weather as in stormy wet weather.

Mmmmm..... There's nothing about a white carpet in a tent that seems idealistic to me!

The having a white carpet in a tent situation could be resolved simply by having dogs.

I prefer my set up to be fair and I would prefer a fire to be quite a way outside the tent

That's 25 minutes of my life I won't get back!

I loved how he had so much 'latest' kit- the land rover apparently fitting it all in and yet chose to take a blow up pillow.

One of the things that amused me was the 'Goldilocks' aspect: the camper was testing out the two levels on the bunk to see which was more comfortable! I wonder whether he also test-drove the inflatable settee. Never fancied one of those. We all know inflatables lose air after a while, and if you have an excitable dog as well, a puncture seems par for the course.
