you should be able to buy the extensions from a local caravan seller place

caravans/motorhomes have fuses TENTS DON'T
if your going to buy the extensions below please buy a rcd
the thing you plug lawn mowers into to stop you dying if you cut the cable it will act as a fuse and save your life but most of all your mobile phones life to
buy one at B&Q
Dont try and save money you need one!

you will require 2 extensions

1 4m length with blue ends on
will have a (240v) round cyindrical blue plastic male plug and the other end will be female

2 1m length with a male blue end and house female end plug the RCD into this before plugging any eletrical equipment

enjoy

an rcd isnt a double pole MCB

for a tent you need both an rcd and a mcb buy a proper hook up not just plug a rcd its not safe the rcd will only protect what is pluged into it it wont protect you if the fault is in the lead running up to the rcd ie the hookup lead itself

For heavens sake buy a proper unit that covers the whole job.
Dont risk your families life or others on the site.

And whats what you run on them out of consideration for others using the hook up.

go out doors have an offer on sill on the RIGHT leads to use in a tent

Electric in tents?!? Water & electric don't mix too well. I go camping to get away from all mod cons

Exactly!!!! What is the point of having eleccy in a tent. I thought the whole idea was to leave all that behind, why don't you just go to a b&b or something.....

If in doubt, do it anyway!!!!!!

After listening to many people (and actualy beign posted a lick) I bought a horizontal triple cocket unit for £55 including postage.  For the safety on site this PROPER unit will provide its worth every penny.  Ive even bought a 3pin mand connector for it and Im going to use it as a garden extention

I do actually agree whole heartedly but having EHU extends your camping season especially when you have children with you...
Just cos its a tent doesnt mean you should do with out...
Also as long as your not stupid or greedy and bring ALL your household appliances youll be fine...

In the winter all I take is a small low wattage fan heater and a radio....

Ehu is only an enhancement and shouldnt be relied on, also in a caravan ...

yeah maybe we should leave that where it is, EHU is a personal choice and its better that people get good advise when buying it rather than buy a killer cable...

steven no need for the ambulance ...lol
