PS, it's been quite stable so far, with drunks and teenagers thundering past it!

What a fab idea using a bag and cat litter.  We are just looking at portaloo's at the moment and yesterday saw the bucket with a toilet seat option.  It was £20 which is half the price of the portaloo's but obviously doesn't flush.

Bit annoying that it is actually a normal bucket with a loo seat on it..... wish I could make my own!

Yes, it worked really well. Thanks for the advice from everyone. In the end, we used a plastic paint kettle (like a small white bucket with a metal handle) from B&Q as we only wanted it for our 3 yr old's "standing use" only so didn't really need a bigger bucket! 2 pedal bin bags then a bit of the Tesco Premium pine-scented wood cat litter and it worked fab! No smell, no spillage, could put hand wipes in bucket as well and dead easy to dispose of ready for next use.

We use luggable loo  as it's tall (yet my 3 year old has no problem getting on and off, and it's great if you are 7 stones +, (doubled) great for my huge ass!!!!!

I wouldn't entertain cat litter, too much hassel and space taken up. I just put zalflora and a little water in the LL at night and empty in chemical waste (or loos) in the morning. Oh and a no solid-waste rule!

Glad the cat litter worked alright....  everyone will always have their own "method"..

Think we will go for the cat litter idea though, especially as we have cats so can just nick some of there's!!!!
