goodness me £50 per night, hells fire thats mega expensive.  Just been looking the in the club book at it states prices are per person and not per size of tent.  It says is it £25.20 in hight season and £17.85 mid season, there is no way I would pay £50, just think of all the wine I would miss out on.

However, I will certainly be making sure I mention the size of our tent then we do book.

Barney Castle was lovely, a really nice site, very clean and the staff were wonderful.  Would recommend it to anyone!

I joined the C&CC last year after a couple of days camping and realising I would already have saved £11 of the membership fee!

We certainly recouped our membership fee last year, after discovering that we had become accustomed to the standards at Club Sites.  Another valuable discovery was that they are more welcoming if you want to arrive late and are a member.  (That was c8pm one night when we were fleeing a disgusting non-C&CC site).

Hi Lorna,

Welcome to the site  Glad you enjoyed Barnard Castle.

We have just returned from a C&CC site in Bellingham Northumberland probably about a hours drive for you.

the site is called

Brown Rigg Caravan & Camping Park (search for it on this site)

we had a great stay here and the loos and showers are the cleanest we have seen.

the site is only 9 miles from Kielder which is a great place for the dog walking.

cheers Paul

When I first came back to camping after a long break, I joined the C&CC, but never got my money's worth out of the membership fee. Nowadays I stick to UKCS meets and just extend my stay if I want a longer holiday. C&CC sites are good, but UKCS is much more fun!
