Well done you! This is EXACTLY what camping is all about.Stuff the weather, stuff the forecasts. For goodness sake we live in GB......say no more. Just go and enjoy yourselves. The only sensible thing I can say is this.....if your tent is a 'cotton' tent, then unfortunately it will have to have a good wetting to make it fully waterproof. This does not mean that it will leak, but only that it will get better after it has got wet!
Have a great time!

I hope everyone had a good time and OK weather.  I'm in West Wales at the moment (Not camping) and it has been gorgeous all weekend so I hope other people have had their fair share of it.  I

Well, to those who are out camping in the horrendous conditions we have had here this morning, I say "Best of British luck" to you.

This is becoming ridiculous. I work at a college and am now entering the second week of the eight week summer break and there is no sign of me camping in the near future. In fact, this is the sixth week I have had off since we returned after Christmas and yet in these forty two days I will have managed just five days camping at Easter. It is no better for the hikers, of which I am one of them. I've just been on the countrywalking.co.uk message boards and they are full of threads about the weather.

I was reading that the Chinese are thinking of using rockets to zap clouds and ensure great weather for the Bejing Olympics. Some of us will remember that during the days of the Soviet Union, the annual military parade in Red Square was always blessed with sunshine, as the commies used similar methods. Any chance of some of it here?

We're of to Scone, Perth on Wednesday for 4 nights. Have spent a ridiculous amount of money on new wellies for us all from www.welligogs.com so probably won't rain now! If it does we're well prepared, have even invested in a persian rug to keep things cosy. The joy of camping with a van to carry all the gear

Jacqui, we have just come back from your neck of the woods, as ya know, and it rained every day at some stage bar the day we came home, Friday!  Weren't due back til today but decided to come and have a relaxing weekend at home rather than deal with wet awnings again!

Had a great time though, did lots of stuff but must admit it was beginning to jar me off towards the end.  Haven't swum once, nor sat outside and had a BBQ.  Harrumph.

Well we're back from Silverstone and against all odds had absolutely superb weather!! Wet Thursday night, bit wet Friday morning but then OK for the rest of Friday. Saturday and Sunday were bright hot and sunny!   How wierd is that from last week?

Pitched on a bit of a bog (and that was the good part of the pitches!) so have muddy soggy groundsheets to sort and some mud on the canvas but against what we were expecting it was fab

Hope everyone else had a good weekend!
