Well, we are mere newbies also I first went camping with the Girl Guides years ago, eww LOL! I remember having a great time with my friends but the tents were a nightmare, we had to take our own single sized groundsheets and roll mats and the tent was infested with earwigs You can only imagine how well that went down with a bunch of eleven year old girls LOL!
After that I didn't go again until I was married and our daughter was one year old. (Ten years ago). I used to work for Millets and we told head office we wanted a "hands on training weekend" hehehe! They paid our pitch fees and even let us borrow a couple of returned tents for the weekend, what a great time we all had! The best bit was unpegging our managers little tent and hiding it behind one of the bigger ones whilst he was down the pub
I've just persuaded the Bloke that it's the only way we're going to get affordable, fun, hassle free holidays and luckily he relented, after some careful grooming, hehe. We've been away twice so far and are now looking forward to a week in the Cotswolds in August!
