I think it's all about expectation! We camp in the winter too, and expect the weather to be cold, wet and maybe windy. In the summer, you expect it to be warm, dry and maybe breezy. If we get our heads round the fact that seasons have shifted, then when we go camping we'll expect whatever is thrown at us and it won't be so bad.

I think the weather adds to the challenge too. It's great thinking back over the disasters as well as the 'perfect' trips. Like has been said, it gives you something to muse over.

The only problem I have with camping is that I just can't find the ultimate tent that suits all our wants and needs!

Definitely had a soggy camping season this year - but can't wait to get the tent out again next year - although now my oldest daughter has just started school we will be tied to the school holidays - this year was our last year of holiday freedom!!!

We are however going to book a week in Majorca next May/June to offset any soggy camping trips we may have next year!!

Well, I had a completely mixed bag of weather in Cornwall this year (August) with neighbours saying the week before was scorching blah blah blah.

The very first time I camped with my Missus it rained. She hated it but my stance ws if you can survive this, you can survive anything and now she loves it ........ which shows by the money we've invested in kit!

It won't put me off though ....... my addage is that a holiday is what you make it.

Obviously I'm hoping for a better week next year to get some proper body boarding action!!

My memories of 2007 is one of just how extreme the weather has been within only a few days.

I've camped for 40 years & yes I've been frozen,soaked, toasted & survived force 10 winds on a good number of occasions but never in the space of three days before. I will be out twice in October for more but hoping for better.
