I'm not sureif we were brave or daft but either way we had a good time and i'd definitely do it again.  The walk up the Roaches last sunday was heavenly and made it a fab weekend.

We have the outwell jersey pop up tent and i'm loving it.  it really does just pop up and putting it away is almost as quick once you know how!

Thanks to all the advice on here-i think a trip to the local camping shop to buy us a trangia is looming..

we have the smaller jersey s and i was surprised how roomy it is so i would think the larger m would be more than adequate for 2 boys.

We have the M and it is huge, we have two adults, two dogs and all our gear including stove and gas bottle etc no problems. The S should be plenty big enough for children.

Trangia meths stoves are brilliant, Polly! I never fancied one till I tried one out! You can cook and brew even in a gale, as the flame is protected from the wind. Here's a one-minute video CLICK HERE, POLLY!

Johnny

If you use a Trangia stove don't forget to add a little water to the meths. If you don't you get very black bottoms on your cooking pans. Even adding water you still get the black bottoms but not half as bad as you will get from using neat meths
