We tend to choose sites with baths for ease. However when we couldn't do that we took our mothercare inflatable baby bath (£10 I think). I then fill that up from the shower. Our big 3yr old could sit in it, it has a bit of give in the shape as it's inflatable but this year if needed she would just kneel or stand in it whilst I wash her. The advantage of the baby bath is that it packs up very small (and was useful for our 5mth old too). I will also try and get her used to showers...

People took to using various plastic boxes in the showers at the site we use last year.  All well and good until their little dears upended them all over the main floor outside of the shower cubicles and mummy didn't bother to mop it all up.  Countless times I went in to shower late evening and was met with floods of water that I had to mop up before I could shower, in order to get into the shower without needing a snorkel and flippers.

Surely the best idea is to get them used to showering at home before you go and then you don't have all the hassle of boxes and mop ups, as I am sure no UKCS member would be as inconsiderate as the campers we encountered last year.

Can't you just give her a good old-fashioned strip wash at the basins?

Yes as Little Owl says its a trug I use for Alex,  available lots of places.  Alex was just three when I took that photo last year.  You can get bigger ones but would be harder work to carry, too heavy.  I used to put some hot in at washing up sinks then add cold back at tent.  PamJ

Our youngest son is 6 and Autistic and he hates the showers and the family bathrooms on site, I think it is probably the noise. So we use the washing up bowl put a large towel on the floor and have a good old fashioned strip wash.  Johnsons do a top to toe wash which is pump dispensed which is great for inside the tent.

Each child is going to respond to showers differently. I've never come across water on the floors and if my little one ever spilled water, it would be cleaned up.

My child likes the shower somewhat at home, however, he does not like the scalding water coming out and hitting him when we are camping. Most don't stay on for long and he ends up getting cold as well. Therefore I will not expect him to use the shower there until he feels ready.

So in this case and obviously others here, it is not best at this time to get our children used to showers.

I've seen lots of people use tubs to put their kids in and they usually have lots of fun.  With my little ones we have been taking them in since they were quite small - they both went through phases of not really liking it - but we go in together and we used to cuddle them close and just pop them under a bit until they got used it (ok meant our showers weren't so great for a little while) but now my eldest would stay in a shower all day (which is quite impressive since he still hates getting water in his eyes which was probably why he didn't like showers initially and now shower water is ok in his eyes!) and the youngest who wouldn't voluntarily get in a shower does not complain about showering with us when we are on site.  I guess have a go at all the options and ideas and find out what works best for you and your child.

Until last year showering was a problem for my little son.  We used to wash him in the sink whilst camping, get him to stand up in it and then swish him down, or if a baby bath was provided he used that, he even used one at our local C&CC site last year and was nearly 5.  I dont worry too much, as long as he was freshened up, then he can have a long bath when we get home.  We went camping later on in the year and the site we stayed on, you could lift the shower heads down, he didnt mind that one

I bath my little 1 now aged 3 in a very small paddling pool about 3ft wide. Its ideal along with a jug to scoop the water up with. When finished i pick it up and discard of the water. It doesnt take up any room coz it deflates and rolls up. Cost me £3 from Tesco.  Easy.

Worth thinking about.
