you must have stayed at some posh sites at those prices. but though the prices have changed and the equipemnet has though for the better, the one thing that as remained constant is the friendliness and helpfulness that fellow campers have for each other. And that is why I like this site and long may it continue

lovely stories all of you

As former Cub Scout leader I have to admit to preference for modern tents, and bedroom pods. But we still teach all our young people to pitch traditional canvas patrol tents, and the importance of tent tidyness, ventilation etc.

These, and many other traditional skills are still much enjoyed by many thousands of young people.

The Scout Association motto for their Centenary (2007) was: Looking Back, Moving forwards, in other words making the most of both worlds.

Anniemac, one of the reasons for joing the scouts was to go camping with all my mates, thanks to people like you. Our Scout leader had 2 sons who used to come with us,it enabled me and others to go to a lot of places i wouldn`t have been able to ,it also kept us off the streets. I think all the parents used to  have a big party when we vanished from sight PS Do the tents still have that funny aroma or was it the old spice  the male scout leaders were issued with
