I use one of those bendy bucket things with a handle on the top, looks like shopping bag when you pull the handles together, and only needs one hand to carry, unlike a crate or bowl. something like this I got it from instore/poundstretcher.
That looks brilliant and it will probably squish into a gap in the trailer/car better than the washing up dish I will have to get one of those.
I find it alot easier getting my kids to wash pots while camping than I do at home We just take everything in one of those collapsible baskets with handles and dry them when we get back to the tent.

I'm sure my kids leave bits on the dishes on purpose so I don't ask them to do it again. and they always leave the washing up liquid behind at the sinks, got wise to that though, and just squirt a bit in a cup for them now.
I use a mop bucket <new!!> and then if I need hot water back at the pitch to clean the cooker etc I can transport it in the bucket.
I just use an ordinary bucket for that...I've got two, one for toilet use and one for cleaning jobs/dirty clothes/lugging the bottles to the recycling/soaking the mussels in when we go to France. Two identical buckets (one with a "T" scratched on it, to identify it) nest inside one another and take up very little more space than a single. And the gas bottle fits inside them too.
Incidentally you can get quite small washing up bowls...they sell them in camping shops at a ridiculous price, but I've always found them in supermarkets for not a lot. My last set of buckets and matching washing up bowl came from Sainsburys...you want the bowl to be big enough to slot the buckets into, but small enough to fit into the folding crate plus the bucket needs to be able to hold the gas bottle. Sainsbury had the lot, including the coordinating folding crates, lol.
We use the collapsable basket with handles have to agree enjoy the chat while washing up not that i do it very often other half does most of the cooking and washing up while camping.
It does seem that quite often the men get sent to do the washing up. ...and empty the loo ...and ...and What's going on? Anyway they all seem quite chatty when I meet them at the sink.
Well we generally go and do the washing up together, sometimes I have to admit my husband goes on his own if there are just a few things and I have something else to sort out.
Instead of a washing up bowl we use a bait bowl that we bought from a fishing shop. It is fabric so it squashes down to anyshape you want but large enough to hold our biggest plates. Much easier to pack than a plastic washing up bowl.

I will use the washing up sinks if they are nice! We have a wash stand though which we take to sites that don't have great washing up sinks. Nothing worse than dirty washing sinks and i am sorry but i am not going to clean some other dirty buggers mess up before i have to clean my own!
Never throw my dirty water in a bush though!!

I use a horse feed bucket to take crocks to washing up, its wide enough to take all the plates and cooker bits and has a handle for carring. Very useful for packing odd bits into in the car when packing for camping trip.
We take ours down to the washing up sinks in a trug. The trug sits under the table during the day in the tent and as we have used cups etc we put them strainght in. We make sure we wash up after each meal then the kids can use the toilet before we go out either in the car or for a walk. We pack things in the trug in the boot when travelling so no space is lost and as it's not too rigid we can slot it into awkward spaces.
