Put our Monty up for the first time last weekend.

I had a lot more trouble than the guy on the video. It still managed to stand up to the wind though!

I'm going to have to have a go in the garden tomorrow and see if I can do it the same way. Maybe not in 8 mins though!!

Have to admit I got it back in the bag ok although I took the sleeping compartment out as the tent was wet. That said my bag looks to be stretched to twice the size it should be.!!

Well we're back and i love it!

Putting it up went well, probably took just short of an hour, did it the way of the Youtube video, quite easy and straight forward although a little heavier than i realised.

Once set up and unpacked it was lovely and cosy, the carpet does really make a difference and the kids were so pleased with their room.

This morning awoke to heavy rain!

We spotted one slight leak (it really is tiny, abit of a drip) on one of the window seams and we have a toggle missing off another window, but thats it so was very pleased.

After completely emptying the tent and putting the kids in the car (telling them we may be some time!) We began to take it down.

The poles come out effortlessly, really easy and it is as simple to take down as it is to put up, however, it really was raining hard by now and there were massive puddles forming all over it, making the flysheet very heavy!

After folding and lifting a few times to get most of the water off we began to fold it (remembering the tip about getting all the air out) and found the best way was to roll forwards and back across it lol! Yes i was soaked through to my skin lol!

We managed to get it in the bag first time yipeeeee!

(took and hour and 20 mins in all though, that was mainly due to the rain)

If anyone is thinking about getting one of these tents.....go for it!

Great to hear you enjoyed it and mastered the Monty.

Regarding your leak - get a can of spray-on Fabsil and treat the seams around the window on the outside next time you have the tent up dry - that should do it. Had a similar issue ourselves.

Kelly,

we had a lovely time too ( and sunburn!).

Breeze to put up - thanks to the youtube video, and lovely to takedown.....which when we did, made us gasp in  horror.....

there was a repair patch on the underside (in the floor of the one of the cabins - thats why we didn't see it inside).

The beauty of buying it locally is that we arrived home at 3pm, and had replacement tent at 4pm. Tent shop people really shocked and apologetic.  That aside, i wouldn't change it for the world, and now want the carpet ( rug envy)...but before that I want a hook up,  friends use theirs for a fan heater, and it was ruddy cold last night.

Can't wait to go again - husband thinks I'm a genius ( which I am)

Arrgggghhh can't dry the b*****y thing!

Opened it out thinking, 'we'll just hang it down the stairs like i've seen people mention on here' NO CHANCE! All the water ran down (lots more inside despite our efforts) so we ran up and stuffed it in the bath!!! LOL!

I have pulled it out slowly leaving the majority of water to spill into the bath and it is now hanging across the landing, some down the stairs, up my loft ladders, over my bedroom door and hooked onto the wardrobe door handles! I'm petrified it will tear! (shouldnt i know, all the weight is still on the floor). I figure i'm just going to have to keep rotating it over the next couple of days until it's dry as we're forecast rain until Thurs!

Nightmare!

BTW i am now soaked AGAIN!

P.S any ideas how i can get the inner rooms out to dry seperately?

the only way would be to crawl in , getting more soaked lol and undo them and then either put them on a very low setting in the dryer or hanging the up somewhere if you have the room

btw regarding drying, i started a topic on that one, and we've now had a friend offer lawn space whenever, but suggestions to rent hall space for a donation, or contact local dealers to see if they'll hang it for you came up as ideas. Search tent trying on google - you might be lucky.
