I did get there and had a great time until the dying hours of the festival which was full of drunken numpties putting kids nearer the front in danger! Won't go into that here. I've been raging about elsewhere all day. There was an abnormally high rate of alcohol consumption and this was my fifth time at the festival so I can say that with some authority.

I'm glad your camping was so successful. I've heard a few dodgy reports about behaviour of the drunken variety in other parts of the campsite so I'm very glad to hear your experience was positive.

I'm taking my kids to Bestival in September which is also on the Island and has a lot more to occupy kids.

Yes, I think camping in the main filed - even the family site would've been scary with kids and I don't think we'd go to such a big festival with them again.  They loved the kid zone area with great free activities though.  Hope you enjoy Bestival.

Very family friendly, have a family campsite, relatively small 2K/6K capacity, and in a City Centre - so all mods cons nearby. And both have won loads of family/friendly festival awards, and TOP MUSIC to boot !!!!!
