We love our Outwell Vermont XL - withstands heavy rain and winds - huge interior space, takes about 30-40mins to erect and will take everything 'bar the kitchen sink'.

My OH now thinks that the Wolf Lake 7 is the best and wants us to replace our Hartford XXL for it If it had four bedrooms I may be tempted but alas it doesn't..............My bank balance can heave a sigh of relief

My friends reckon I should be certified anyway. And they should know!!
We have just bought a outwell idaho xl. It is fantastic. We originally ordered the Idaho L for £399 but then went to Go Outdoors and they had an offer on the Idaho XL - £345 so got that instead!! (Not bad really - a bigger tent for £50 cheaper!!) The tent is a tunnel ten with two huge bedrooms. You can stand up throughout. There are separate changing areas next to each bedroom with a wardrobe bar for your clothes. The living area is huge too. Love this tent.

Hi all
Myself if I was just starting out camping I would be looking for a 4.5m x 7.5 oval bell type tent with 3 foot walls and framed push out porch and cooking area, preferably made from Ten-cate cotton, I would like it to be self erecting but that I think is asking too much
So I will have to stick my Cabanon frame tents as to me they are the next best thing.
All the best
Rex.

It always amuses me that folks always recommend their own tents on "what tent" threads even when they don't in any way fit the requirements of the opening poster
There is no "best tent", if there was we wouldn't have such a diverse range of tents available. Horses for courses and much better to be able to be constructive about the pro's and con's of one's own tent rather than recommended it to all others without more detail.

Hi P&T
Do not agree with you this time, Recommendation can only come from someone who as tried a tent and found it satisfactory enough to go on this site and recommend it.
And the best tent in the world is the one or ones that a camper is happy with for what they require it for,
I myself have read of the benefits of DeWaard and Karston. But there is no way I could recommend one as I have not used one, As for tents I have used over the years The best tent in the world for Val and I is the Cabanon Andorra and I can recommend this tent as the best
2+2 berth tent in the world in my opinion, yes be constructive by all means like I am see my review on the Andorra.
All the best
Rex.
