Think I'm pretty lucky.  Within 90 mins I have Lake District, Wales and Yorkshire (would I need a passport for Yorkshire? ).

Anything from 5 minutes up the road (we have a couple of really nice campsites about 2 miles away) to two hours up to the coast, we're in Cambridge, so landlocked.

We found a lovely little site about 20 minutes from home so use that for weekend breaks. For our main holiday we travel up to 2 1/2 hours don't like travelling much further than that.

Hi

Weekends we travel about anything up to 2 1/2 hours, big hols not sure yet because we 've not decided where to go. We're off on our big hols end of next week.

We are lucky to live a 45 minute drive from the coast so thats our usual destination for a weekend.  As someone else said, finish work, throw the stuff in the car and get there with the tent up before dark.  Non camping friends think we are mad to stay so close to home for a weekend away but they just dont get it do they?

We only go on weekend trips,but will travel anything up to 2or3hrs-gives us plenty of scope as we are on the edge of Gloucestershire,Oxfordshire and Wiltshire.

my eldest son (15) is at scout camp, 5 miles from home in a leaders field, 100 yards from her house. we went to a family bbq/games night last night, 30+ very happy children (youngest went just for the day)

it is far enough for a first time away for some of them,

my daughter (13), not to be outdone, is camping with her friend (12) by a river on the edge of another friends land, just far enough away to be independent but near enough for safety. they cooked our tea over the fire friday night. paradise!

Hi,  we travel 2hrs max , that takes in Lakes, Borders & North Yorkshire for us. Sounds daft but don't tend to stay anywhere less than 1hr 'cos it doesn't feel like we've  left home.

2 hours takes us to the Lakes, Snowdonia, Pennines, Welsh borders. Plenty of choice there.
