we downsized from a mondeo, the civic seems just as big inside the cabin, back seat seems wider somehow! (we have 3 teenagers) the boot is a little smaller but found the mondeo boot not that big.

the honda is a 1.4 and gets great MPG.

I've done it! When we family camp its big car + roofbox, packed to the rafters, but I took the 2 kids on my own with my Toyota Yaris. It's amazing the difference one more adult makes!

We get all our camping gear in our car after we downsized...

No roofbox, no trailor..

i think even if i had a transit van there still would not be enough room so the zafira will have to do

it was the sheer size of the tent that threw me, HUGE difference, but looking at the forecast we will appreciate it!

We have a Merc B Class. Family of 3 + large dog.....just squeeze in

Currently contemplating a roof storage box but Mercedes prices get higher by the day!

Equipment is not a problem but luggage and clothing is a little daunting, especially when 14 yr old wants to bring 'a mate'!!!!!!!!

we've got a daewoo nexia, now for a hatchback that has a large boot. have been camping in it will all the equipment 4 people and all their gear.

mind you only had 3 people last year and filled the boot and the remainer of the back seat! it's only me and OH this time, so there should be space.......

well we did it! picked up the new astra today and i managed to get roof bars with it. just need the tow bar now. it is a lot smaller than vectra, but im sure we will fit everything in. we did it before without trailer and roof box, so im sure we will do it again. wont find out until august though. cos we are leaving tent at home as we are off in a static on friday, first time in a few years. cant wait!!!!

i just want to add that we had no trailer or roof box on the nexia. although when the time comes for a new car then we know we need a large boot.
