The elactric fan heater can make a world of difference, it certainly made camping far more enjoyable for my OH. She also insists that we padlock the tent doors, even though I have pointed out that if somebody wanted in they can easily get in. I guess it just puts her mind at rest and makes sure that the kids don't get out without us knowing - I would be amazed if they ever managed it anyway, the amount of noise that kids aged 5 and 2 can make!! As for valuables, like everyone else says just sensible, don't leave things out and about.
