We've got one of these it's got 5 sockets, a RCD and a MCB and it's really well constructed and a really good buy, it's not too heavy and all the sockets have covers and the RCD and MCB are built into the unit in a little lift up box so you can test them easily. Definately worth £50.

Looks very good, that one. They've done very well to put that together for the price.

Yeah that's what we thought and we were even more impressed when we got it delivered. It really is a first class piece of kit. And being the shape it is it just stands up or lies down happily in the corner of the tent. And when you consider it's put together through part of a sustainability project it's not damaging the earth to make it.
if you are now to ehu 5 sockets is easy to overload and trip the post.
Your £12 is sadly deffinatly money down the drain. Do a google search for one that looks like the one 2plus1 pictured. any reputable camp shop or online retailer will have them. Go outdoors was doing £19.99 special but that is prob over now.
------------- Oh am loving the tin tent after campaining against it..........I was wrong.
It isn't the number of sockets, it's what you plug into them
Personally I regret buying a single socket unit - most people will need at least a couple of splash-proof sockets near the unit.
For many, 3 sockets might be enough 5 certainly.
Basic rule is 1KW kettle OR 1KW toaster OR 1KW fan heater (4 amp appliances, but use significantly more when you first switch them on) - pretty well anything else is going to be insignificant.
Personally I don't want to be plugging or unplugging things in a tent at all - so will be using the pack of four wireless-controlled switches I bought in Aldi - as well as all electrics being off the ground and in a dry part of the tent where it can't be tripped over.
I will need three 4 ways and a long 2 way cable.
The key recognised hazard in my industry with properly rated and fused extension cables is losing control about what someone else has plugged into the end of them.
