well it was the off cut from the stair carpet being replaced, and all i know is it was not cheap!! I guess the laminate stuff would work, when the new floor goes down in the extension i will report on that as i will give it a try. the underlay i currently have is about an inch thick but folds and rolls up no bigger than a single sleeping bag. it does accomodate the double air bed very well.

It's the wine that makes me say it
We have sig, footprint, outwell carpet and in the bedrooms we put down a reflective sheet, a picnic blanket, airbed, fleece and then sleepbag on top with a cheapy Ikea fleece at the bottom to throw on should it get chilly.
Did the same for children, & they had those all in one fleecy pyjamas with feet in which you get in really big sizes (not quite mine tho) from Mothercare and fleece sleepbag liners - and we were all really cosy didn't want to get out of bed in the mornings! Halogen heater to pump out a bit of heat in the cold evenings.
However as weather this year is going to be scorching from April thru to September Im looking forward to binning the sleeping bags and just sleeping in a cotton liner - heres hoping!
Hi Jo mine is 2001 got that confirmed by a Cabanon spares co. and Im sure yours is 2002 which was the last year of Athena before it became Aruba and it was the only year Athenas had a zip out panel (its amazing how much info you can glean from people). I remember rex saying that if your tent has orange triangles around the front window it means its pre 2002 and doesn't have the side zip out panel which is right for mine. Because I don't have the zip out panel my kitchen is on the left as you face tent & yours is on the right.
Thankyou for that....I do have the zip out panel, and, having finally pitched it, cannot imagine ever needing to add to it....its huge. Even the curtains aren`t too offensive....by cabanons standards that is
Ha its a man thing I reckon. My OH was dead against it, lots of tutting, sarcastic comments and mumbling under the breath especially when he found out he had to collect it then as soon as its pitched he acts like he was up for it all along!! Our curtains aren't too bad. a bit chintzy def nothing I'd choose but as they are brand new and fit the runners on the windows - I won't be rushing out to change them!! I think your tent looks great, much better in your photo than in auction photo you got a real bargain there!
