I have a cheap hanging rail from Argos.  No castors and I don't adjust the height so its a bit more rigid on uneven grass.  I only use this when we go away for our annual 2 week. We used to use suitcase but OH had a habit of leaving his dirties with his clean and its was always a mess as he always rummaged in it. Holdalls were too big.

Weekends or short breaks its a holdall each - complete with a photo of who's stuff is in which bag! OH can rummage in his own clothes with his own smelly socks!

I'm another holdalls person.  The kids have one each and hubby and mine goes into one.  TBH I am usually the only one who gets clothes ready and put out anyway - more so that it stops everybody else rummaging around!!!  We usually have a sack where everybody puts dirty stuff etc and that just gets chucked in the car at the end. 

Not sure I would have room in our tent for one of those hanging rails - I would like one as we are planning to go on a longer trip this year so maybe I should buy one to try it out.

Sue, I like the look of those Ikea rails - does the actual rail fold into pieces to fit into boot - I could squeeze the poles into little spaces - if I have many spaces left!!!!

yes might have to invest in one of those.  At least if it doesn't work out I haven't spent a fortune!!

The ikea solution sounds great - and cheap!!

Think i'll give that a go.

  The IKEA idea looks good, especially at that price............anything's good at that price.  At the mo, we take all the clothes in a big laundry bag, then i take those pop up laundry mesh bags for each of us (know what you mean about rummaging through clean and dirty washing) and one for the dirty washing.

We have tried various different bag type things.

Once  upon a time, the kids all had one of those £2 canvas type checkered laundry bags, and in that they had to put there clothes, there sleeping bag, pillow, and blanket; if it didnt fit in it didnt go! But they took up way to much space in the car!

So now me and hubby share a large holdall, and the kids have one each, just a small plain black value holdall from tesco. Other items just get packed around other things in the car.

I do like the idea of the clothes rail, but then it means you have got to take hangers too!!

Sticking to holdalls for now!
