Fawn and Kjaugust:
Certainly was "taters" down in Kent Saturday night, below zero in fact and a hand which had escaped from my sleeping bag was freezing (reminds me of an opera) but my body was warm enough.
Sounds like your sleeping bags are about right Fawn. What you put underneath them is probably more important than the bag itself, I find an old fashioned blanket under a Thermorest and two woollen (not synthetic) travel rugs on top of the Thermorest and under the bag with a fleece liner in the bag is fine for this time of year.
Don't forget to pull your sleeping bag over your head or wear a hat.
