We have the large sun canopy for our Venture 500 (also fits the Tamor / Icarus).  We've found that the elasticated edge fits over the first pole on the porch and then the guys back toward the side door and pegged into the ground.  The problem in this is that we've found that during winds it blows off therefore we have purchased some clips (same size as the poles) and we now attach to the front pole with those.  You still have the gap down the sides between the tent and the porch - We've tried pitching it further back and attaching the guys to the dome poles but find it pulls down the roof in the living area.  Hope this makes sense!!!

We have the extension with door which is supposed to fit the orchy (what we have) and Im sure its supposed to fit the icarus and tigris too - but im not impressed but have only used it once.

It just didnt seem right and let in rain between the tent and extension and pulled on the tent making it flap a lot in the wind we had, something its never done before and been perfectly quiet in stronger winds before now.

I think its actually meant for the side door, the instructions online state side door for the extension with door but just say door for the others so im gonna try it on the side next time.

let us know how it goes if you try it on the side

Hi
We've just had our first trip with a new Vango Tigris 800. We bought an extension (the one with a door on end). For the life of us, could we get this thing to work???!!! Doesn't seem to fit the tent - I assumed these things were universal. Anyone else had problems with Vango extensions/tunnels?

 Hi ,

Which canopy with the door did you purchase ?

One goes onto the end of the Tigris 800 where the door is to the sleeping area, which kinda defeats the object in my opinion.

The other goes on either of the two doors into the living area, although it is a better fit over the one without the little porch, (the one with the two seperate vertical zips )  as it tends to distort the other door aperture slightly and makes the zipper very tight to operate.

Check out this  thread : Vango Large Canopy of Tigris using the search function and all should become clear

Hi there,

For those with the Tigris tent and similar the following threat contains lots of information regarding what extensions are compatibles with tigris and similar.

http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/chatter/display_topic_threads.asp?ForumID=32&TopicID=177757&PagePosition=1&ThreadPage=1&ReturnPage=Search&search=&searchIn=

I would like to take the opportunity to ask for a small favor to any of the owners of a Tigris 800. I am a owner of a Tigris 800, after our first camping trip it got damaged and I got a replacement. Unfortunately I do not have a garden and the tigris 800 is not exactly the lightest tent to take to a local park. I have checking the content of the new tent (as I know what is included from my old one) and found that the 3 large poles seem to be not as long as the ones included with my old tent. I remember that these three poles were substantially longer that the two medium poles but the poles included with my new tent are one one section longer than the medium poles. The two medium poles have 10 sections and the three long poles 11 sections.

I would appreciate if anyone can confirm the length of the poles.

Regards,

Hazael

As far as I'm aware, the standard and large canopies with the elasticated section only work on tent models with porches rather than wide end doorways. If you have a tunnel tent you need the canopy with the long tail that goes over the tent, and it fits to the side door, not the front one.

Which costs a lot more, bah. But I'm working up to getting one.

Hi val

I bought a vango canopy for a coleman columbia tent.  I think the general rule of thumb is that vango extensions will fit most dome tents, however, when pitching the guys don't always end in the nicest of positions!  The actual extension itself isn't the problem, just how and where you put the guys

Hazael ,

The shorter pole lengths ( the one with the grey pole ) are indeed 10 sections and the longer are 11 .
