seem to spend a lot, we had 2 days away at easter and most of the money went on food, we had trips out to a castle which cost a bit and then to a visitor centre. Keep meaning to start my food camping store but never get round to it

We always say we will try to spend less each time we go away but never manage it.  Going away at the weekend for 8 nights and are doing the food shop on friday so that will mostly be covered but i expect that we will still spend alot.

Campsite £110

Diesel £110ish

spends for everything else probably £200-300ish

That is for 2 adults and 3 children though.  Amazing how money just seems to get spend very easily when your away.

I look online to see where nearest main supermarkets are to campsite for most of the shopping, always take picnic food where poss, take stuff like dry herbs, ketchup, mayo, olive oil from home and also take a suitcase cooker to make tea when at the beach or out for the day, this saves me loads as i like my cuppa's.

Yep, we spend a lot as well! I try and save money before we go so don't have to worry so much when we're there. I've been using this site to get discounts on loads of stuff online, like stocking up on food with Tesco ecoupons and buying new sleeping bags etc with Halfords voucher codes.

Yes  in 4 weeks between the wedding and buying more tent gear after selling the teardrop trailer and fixing the car i have spent over £2500 and i have to now cut back! I usualy go out for the odd meal on holiday but this year we are on honymoon and still going to do some cooking ourselves.I am going to the pub maybee 6 times in two weeks but with the equipment can save abit.It is about fun too so we all have to spend ,we would any way guess the credit crunch hurts,it has always been a credit crunch for me as i have no credit!Lets just be sensible about all this enjoy when you can eating out and when you can not invite fellow campers around for more fun it need not cost the earth.Just have a good time and try not to worry this is camping after all and the hotel would have cost 10 times the amount!
