I really feel for her, as a fellow sufferer I know how she feels. When mine's bad, sitting for loing periods and driving are two of the worst things.

I always find camping helps my sciatica though, I think sleeping on the air bed agrees with me.

I hope it soon clears up.

This happened to me last year and my OH doesn't drive either. We had to return home from Llangollen early. I went to a private physio but he couldn't help and nor did anything else. When I had an MRI scan it showed a synovial cyst on the base of my spine trapping the sciatic nerve. I finished up having cortisone injections which helped a little. I do sympathise with your wife. I was in a wheelchair for most of last summer. She does need a scan to tell whats causing it though. Insist on it. I hope she feels better very soon.

Can't imagine the pain she's been enduring for so long. I won't talk about it as it'll sound like I'm patronising as I know nothing about sciatica and hope I will never have to after what your wife and others here are going through. I wish her all the best to find out the cause soon and that it will ease. She's got a great supportive family by the sounds of it and that's half the battle 17

Thanks again all !! Things are starting to get better with improved analgesia and muscle relaxant. Also now have an orthopedic referal in the pipeline ,from which an MRI scan should follow .
