I work as a warden at a college. I have learned (it didnt come overnight, originally I was useless) that if you maintain politeness yet be assertive, occupy your ground, you stand a much better chance of resolving noise makers/trouble makers.
I know it is easier said than done but why suffer all night because some moron has no respect. I have done confrontation courses, customer service courses etc and actually found they are useful in the long run even though they are notoriously dull:-). Always ask on arrival to sites, who is the warden if you havent met them and what the procedures are to complain with phone numbers if applicable, and use your mobile/go to warden without hesitation if the noise repeatedly breaks curfew. Otherwise ring 999 if it gets nasty. If I knew a young family were being kept awake by yobs I would be straight across no hesitation but then thats the way I am. I am off to cornwall in 3 weeks but can I take my work head off? hope so:-)
