want to hijack your thread a bit, sorry. Inverters are available well above that size for things like Solar power installations they are silly money. The other issue is you need 3000watts due to the start up current and your right to divide by the voltage for the current you need to do this on the battery side ie
3000watts / 12volts = 250 amps you need welding cable size wires and truck batteries!
I have seen a 12volt low wattage hair dryer on ebay in the camping section, plugs into your lighter socket for a few quid it may be worth a try
