for all those nights running lights and lanterns you will need plenty of batteries, I usually find the pound shop batteries, even branded ones, to be pretty poor. GP Ultra on the other hand are excellent, in my experience they beat recognised brands (the one with the Cu coloured top) hands down.
You can get them online or try in your local hardware shop ~6GBP for 24 - a bargain
We use two solar lanterns that I picked up from sainsbury's, probably for under a tenner. Even on grey, over cast days they charged up enough to last all through the night. They give a soft gentle night that is perfect for a night light. No need to faff about with batteries, winding or charging. All you have to remeber is to put them OUTSIDE the tent in the morning.
Camping gear expands to ( slightly ) overfill the space available. This is true even if you were to buy a bigger car than a Zafira, equip it with a roofbox and tow a trailer!!!!!

Hiya there, you've had plenty of advice on you're lights, but one thing I would definately do as a family is have a practise run at putting up you're tent. Even if its in the local park. Theres nothing worse then trying to put up working out which end is the door etc.and the kids running round cause you'll be wishing you're name wasn't maammmmmmmm!!!! lol. This way you'll be able to see whats entailed and check that you're tent as all it bits intact and you will be able to allocate setting up duties to the junior holeymoleys! Just remember to try and keep a sense of humour and that tent walls aren't soundproof !!!! Goodluck and enjoy!!!
