some of the sites should be renamed....SCRATCH IT PARK.. MOZZIELAND....FLEAPIT PARADE....ITCHY ROAD....BITE YA BUTT PARK....MOZZIE GOT YA....SKIN SO BITEABLE.
The Avon Skin so soft is the way to go, the marines and sas says it works and having used it last 2 years have to agree. We use it all the time when we on the canals and camping by lakes and never had problems once annoited with this.
It was on offer when i bought it, 3 bottles for £8 i think it was so bought 9 of em for future use.

Anywhere with lots of trees and rainfall is going to have a healthy population of midges. We were at narbonne in the south of france last year and there were loads there, which despite all precautions got into our caravan in numbers.
Thanks for the warning about Narbonne, I'm camping there this summer and midges never even occured to me. In scotland or wales yes but I didn't realise that one got french ones
Just got off the phone from my Avon lady (my best friend really !) who informs me that she has half a bottle I can have for this weekend of skin so soft oil.
I used to use it abroad all the time to stop the mozzies biting me, I'd forgot all about it tbh.

I'm not perfect, I've given up trying to have a tidy house and no matter how hard I try my kids faces are NEVER clean !

You're right of course, we live in N Wales and have the Nant y Ffrith forest, the Plas power woods, Alyn Waters and Wepre park nearbye. All have trees and water and midges and we walk our dogs there daily. But believe me this was exceptional, this was the revenge of the killer midges.
Just had a quick look in the avon catalogue, which of the skin so soft products is it that you should use. Somebody mentioned woodland fresh oil but cannot see it? I could really do with finding out as being an Englishman livin in Scotland the wee buggers seem to take extra special delight in biting me whilst leaving my wife and kids alone!
Thank you crystal. The strange thing is, it was a nasty, nasty experience but we'll look back in years to come and laugh about it. I've got the tent layed out in the garden and the job of cleaning all the dead midges out of it begins.......there are thousands of the little blighters in every nook and cranny.
