Trout lake with extension is 6.3m long by 3.1 meters wide (see my pics on post your tent pics thread on tent advice) - so quite correct is just over 18m sq. I figure an extension is part of a tent... Don't see why I should pay extra to use it... Like an earlier poster, I always tell sites the maximum dimensions of my tent with the extension included...

If I was on-site and the owner wanted extra cash, I'd take the extension down, but leave my kitchen appliances that live in it exactly where they were, granted they would not protected from the weather, but they would be taking up exactly as much space as I was with the extension. Just to prove the point that I shouldn't be paying. Would the owner ask me to move my bin, cooker, storage boxes and table? Doubt it.

I really don't think they would ask for the extra money. Most sites charge extra for awnings, utility tent, gazebos and pup tents. IMO an extension can not be classed as an extra tent, as it is by its nature part of and/or attached to the tent. To be fair, an awning can be classed as this too, but that's for a separate thread...

Have just looked at the price's .... £2.50 for your car - never heard that one before - and extra car yes, but not the only one you have

So if they don't charge for an extra tent .... maybe he should have taken two instead of much smaller extention ..... 

He thought it was more space saving for cooking under cover if raining, than having a separate tent

I think the extention is a rip off - not a lot of extra room, for a lot of MY money (was Chrissie pressie) lol

Personally we stay clear of site's that have lots of add ons .... rather have unit, 2 adults & 2 kids included in the price .... even through we are less bodies wise
