Love the smell of the Bear lake - its so so nice - you cant beat that canvas smell - but my favourite - is the Gaz Mantell - oh thats fab when you first light it !

reminds me of caravaning holidays in the 60s

every time i go into a camping shop, the smell of all the tents gets me going. Its a must. We have to walk in every tent! Don't know why...we have 2 tents and i have no plans on buying anymore. Just a warning to anyone following me in a tent, in these tent shops though, it gets something inside my tummy going, then a little wiff always lingers afterwards! I don't know why this happens, but it just does. Only thing is, i blame the kids!! hehe

As for the camping gas stove.....thats why i do the cooking. The gas and the swan matches mmmmmmmm....... Just, not together and not in front of the kids!!!!

Ha Ha Ha!!

When our new sleeping bags arrived we laid in them on the front room floor, until we decided we'd better get up in case anyone saw us, or we fell asleep!!

I'm really happy about this topic. I also thought I was a bit weird, but when I was little, I'd always love it when we were away and something went wrong, meaning an emergency trip to a nearby camping shop, just so i got that smell.

Didn't go camping for years afterwards, then I suddenly got a whiff of that smell while I was rummaging around in the loft and it set me off again

Oops! - looks like I've opened a can of worms - definately the zipping of the tents & the hiss of the gas boiling the 1st cuppa of the day are up there with the 'tent smell'
