The Nevada 3 certainly looks the business and I think would be very sturdy if a little heavy.

I think you are right, the Nevada 3 would be rather heavy if you were ever hoping to go camping on bikes or by public transport. Also, I was looking at one today and wasn't that impressed by the fact it only has one large, steeply raked back and rather impractical looking  front door.

The other suggestions of a Vango Beta or a Wild Country Venturi sound good though. Go Outdoors have various small Vango tents on offer at the moment, and either the Omega 350 or the Spirit 300 plus might suit you as well.

We brought a quechua 4 man pop up tent, its fab fits two double air beds side by side, and sleeps me and my three children easily, for two of you it would leave you enought room to sit aswell.  Takes about two minutes start to finish to pitch, stood up well to really heavy rain and only cost £50.  http://www.decathlon.co.uk/EN/2-seconds-iiii-green-67842343/

I go with Safeway56, I have one of these tents and I CAN stand up in it, It is quite easy to erect, it has to be as I have to put it up on my own, it is fairly lightweight and very roomy too, and with the 3 doors access is excellent. There are a number of excellent reviews of it elsewhere on this site.

I've had a good look at an Omega 350, and I must say that you get a lot of tent for the price. I bought an Equinox 350 which sell for more than double the price of the Omega, yet there is very little difference between the two. They both have metal poles which are stronger & more reliable than fibreglass.

Go Outdoors are advertising the Omega 350, so you could check their stock situation.

How about the Outdoor revolution Lite
http://www.outdoor-revolution.com/2Lite.htm

http://www.outdoor-revolution.com/4Lite.htm

the first one is less than 4kg and the second 8.8.

You can stand up in the second one and get much more space.

The Vango does look a better option

looks like in stock here http://www.mountainleisureperth.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=382

Thanks all for the suggestions, I think we will be going with something under 10kg, like the omega 350 as we don't even take things like chairs and a table if we go in the car.

at JK98, i was looking at the equinox 350 on sale at something like 150quid but it looks pretty low, i assume because its for more serious conditions than i will need, (hopefully :D)

at hlk01, thats some mighty fine stock finding, even cheaper than i've seen it as well!

Thanks
Shopping's one of my forte's LOL hope you get what you are looking for. I always phone first to make sure they do have stock as I have been stung in the past by ordering and then getting a mail a few days later saying they don't have what I ordered. Sometimes I ring when OOS, we got our Alabama that way .. shown as out of stock but when I phoned they actually had one.. and it was £40 cheaper than elsewhere.
