It can be a couple of miles down the road, but a million miles away.

Over the past few years we have been restricted to being within no more than two hours drive from home, because of illness on both sides of the family.    It means that if needed one of us could drive home, leaving the other on site with the kids.   Then get back, even if only to help with the packing up etc.

We use one very local site a lot but do like to vary it, however we never drive more than 2 hours, especially on a weekend trip.
