I don't think this tent is up to the job in high winds
I must disagree as our Tigris 800 took on the tail end of Hurricane Bill 5 miles from the tip of Lands End and survived with a single broken pole piece whilst others were being held down or shredded.
Have to say I thought the Hurricane wasn't as bad as the newspapers and locals were reporting, not in Newquay at least, most campers were preparing for the worst, infact a number left early ahead of the storm. When I say not up to the job, that was moreso from a personal perspective, we have a 13 month old who was getting a little frightened by the sides of the tent severely bowing in and out and making a snapping noise like the poles were breaking......the pitch we were on had no shelter from the wind and we had to pitch side on due to the constraints of the C&CC pitches........it was still standing in the morning and we were all dry so can't complain too much, a guy in a Cabanon suffered some pole damage after all but wouldn't have been much fun if the weather had been like that for a whole week. We'll be continuing to use the tent even if the TBS can't be fixed as it's ideal for what we want for frequent weekends away......and to be honest even after it broke it didn't seem to be much worse...I'd still recommend the tent for this purpose
