And don't be scared of putting a feece on in bed if your cold or a hat, not things you'd think of doing at home, camping seems to be the opposite of ever other holiday, take twice the clothes and half the money.17 (well maybe a bit more money, it's a holiday after all!)

Hi Lisa - You've had loads of good advice so all you need to do now is go and enjoy it.  Let us know how you get on and I bet when you come back, you'll say you can't wait to go again.

One of the good things about camping in the rain is that no one can hear any other noise you might like to make!!!

Rain doesn't bother me much, but it can get a bit wearing if its been a few days with no let up!

I do like waking up hearing rain and feeling all snuggly in the tent!

This weekend just gone it was pretty dire weather wise, but we went for a walk in the hills during a dry spell ( still managed to get soaked thanks to boggy ground!)

Having a campfire really helped dry out!!

Worse thing is putting tent away in rain...especially as we use pop ups, which are fab generally but putting away wet meant I ended up soaking!

Can I also recommend a hot water bottle, we also have the heater, a mountain of blankets, however, I found that with a thermal top and a hot water bottle, I am really snug and warm.

I am sure that most of what we take is used to keep us warm at night, I also love the sound of rain on the tent, snuggled up in bed, cuddled up to my hot water bottle...lol

I've had some horrible experiences with an ancient, leaking tent in the rain, but now we have a decent tent I can't wait to try it out in a heavy shower or two.

It's rarely we get continuous rain, even in this country, so just enjoy being snug when it's pouring, and skip out when it's stopped and the air is all lovely and fresh!

Looking forward to your report when you get back!

I think rain could be the least of your problems, have you checked the wind speeds over the next couple of days because it is giving gales in various places?  Not being a harbinger of doom but looking at the Brean threads over the weekend the wind was quite destructive.

One of the regular contributor to this forum says something like this. "There's no such thing as bad weather......only inappropriate clothing!"

Have a great time.
