Thing is, though,
You guys all know the solution.
Everybody knows that both dome tents and ripstop nylon are cheapy cheapy products made for a throwaway age. If you want a high quality tent that will last for 25 years, you know what to do.
Buy a Force 10 Mk3-5. Yes, they cost £300. Yes, they look a little old fashioned.
But they are daily proof of the fact that ridge tents made of canvas are simply a better idea. Less fashionable, sure. Slightly heavier, maybe. But I went hiking all over the cairngorms with my old Mk3 and it never leaked a drop or bent a pole or was even slightly worried by serious mountaintop gales.
That was in the early 90s, and I still occasionally use it, which is long lasting enough. But my dad has been using his red Force 10 for 42 years and it is still perfectly watertight and windproof.
If you want a cheap tent, buy a dome tent, or a tunnel tent. If you want a proper tent, you have to pay for it.

Yeh Charlie
your right we do know
but thats not the point of this thread we know quality usualy comes with cost but my point is you should not sell products that are NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE and for all of us that got spanked by poor quality products regardless of cost should be looked after properly or refunded.
I was showing that if you keep nagging you may get the respons or result your after
Oh and by the way there are plenty of quality tents that are far better than the force ten for a lot more money £400 / £600 / £800 what ever! but I couldnt get my family in a force ten now could I, Hense the big tent in the first place
(Vango Diablo 900 XP)
I paid £300 for my tent with poor quality poles.
That is not good enough
And that my freind is my whole POINT
Regards

Got a reply back from Vango
Hi ,
Thanks for your email and I'm sorry to hear of the issues you have had with your pole / poles of your . Very rarely but occasionally we have a problem with a pole. This looks like one such occasion.
Due to the "wear & tear" poles receive during pitching and striking, they are not covered under the warranty, and there is generally a small charge for replacement pole sections or complete poles.
We have subcontracted our pole repairs / replacements to the tent pole and spares specialist; Tent Spares- www.tentspares.co.uk
They will contact you in due course.
Have to wait and see now......
I love the way they wrote very rarely but occasionaly
Thats not what we really know is it
