Thank you. I had heard of them but didn't know what they were. Now looked them up. They seem great for clipping onto material such as tarps and existing broken guy anchor points but I don't think there is anything on the outside of my tent to clip them onto.

I really needed to put extra guys on the poles or very close to the poles to stop them being blown inwards but the main poles are inside the flysheet. The porch pole is inside a long sleeve so no anchor points there except the front door toggle, which wasn't ideal but it helped, at risk of ripping the toggle off of course.

We camped at the start of the Landie London to Brighton run on Saturday night, we were pitched bum to wind, but the back of the pop-up was blown almost flat a few times - deltas and tensioned guy ropes seemed to hold it though, even though the turf is apparently only a few inches deep, and with the new army arctic sleeping bags and self-inflating mats, we were warm and toasty all night.

Yes, we knew the weather was going to be blustery, but there was an annual event we wanted to attend, so we took a small tent and made the most of it.

Yes I could have paid more attention to the weather forecast but when we put the tent up it wasn't blowing at all (it would be almost impossible to get the tent up in the wind) I was more worried about rain as our tent is inner first.

Same here. Friday was actually a glorious sunny and calm day and the wind didn't start until Friday night. My tent is inner first as well and rain was my main concern. Forecasts got that wrong because the wind (and rain) wasn't due until later on Saturday)

I still have faith in the tent design and if we are not able to repair the damage then we will replace with the same design (does anyone else get emotional about their tent??) but you can be assured I will be a little more wind shy.

I must admit quietly thanking the tent for not letting me down. It has weathered some wind before but not quite as bad as that and previously I was able to pitch rear to wind which is much better. This time the tent took the full force from side on...not good but survived. I will still be looking for a more sturdy tent though...I'm not that emotional. Lying inside a tent at night watching the poles twisting and bending above you does not adhere you to a tent. I thought 'Oh sh*****t!' a few times though.
