thanks Andy, I am tempted with the family shelter and £36 is the best price by a long way. It would be great if you could take some photos of it at half term.

I bought mine from Outdoorgear4u (.co.uk I think) - it was £19.99, but £3.95 added for postage, so it'll be the postage rates that decide the best bargain I think! Mine came by interlink and needed to be signed for - first thing on the morning of delivery day you can go online and see which one hour slot your deivery has been allocated, which I thought was useful.

Dagnabbit - just seen the post about Amazon - more expensive, but free shipping! Serves me right for not doing the research. *sigh*

Would one of these tarps fit on my Vango Beta 450?  The doors are on the side of it rather than the front.  Thanks in advance

Unfortunately, this tarp has an elasticated side that hooks behind the front hoop of a tent and extends forward from that. Given the size of the tarp, even if you ignore this feature and guyed it over the tent, the guys would rub on the tent fabric and you would not get much real protection over the doorway. I don't think this tarp would be the best one for you.

There are bigger tarps from a variety of manufacturers that might do. I am sure that someone will be able to give you some suggestions if you put a thread up asking specifically for your tent. I am not really familiar with other brands of tarp as all our tents have doorways with a pole above to which the Adventure Tarp will fit.

Helen

Hi

It's not designed for a side entrance tent like the 200+. However, as the tent is quite narrow and there is a peak, you could stretch the elasticated side so its lying front to back on the side of the tent opposite the door and guy tight and then extend it over the door and away from the tent, holding the centre of the front up with the pole and guying the sides towards the ground. It should work in MHO, protecting the door and giving you about 1.5m protection out from the tent.

Since getting ours, we have used it for various things, just stretching the elasticated side tight if its not needed to go around the arched pole of a tent. Last weekend we used the tent as a BBQ shelter, guying it to our balcony at home and the pole guylines into the flower beds and lawn.

The alternative may be the quecha tarp which is slightly bigger (3m x 3m), doesn't have the elasticated side (which you don't need), comes with 2 poles (I think rather than 1) and is at the same price at the moment:

Happy hunting,

Helen

Speedcamp, I just read this thread and saw the picture of the forest camp in the snow.  Total respect, THAT REALLY IS CAMPING!   Is it your camp, or an image you found to illustrate how to use the tarp?
