What about a beach shelter or a small quechua pop up?

Could put that up in minutes with colouring books, toys etc and let them have their own den while you get on with the main mansion?!

Genius!!!!! We have one of those, and that sounds like a top plan...the older one likes to tell tales, so can be primed to yell if the little one tries to make an escape!!! Good plan, thanks

Our kids are 5 and almost 3. No way could I leave my 3 old 'untethered' whilst my attention was elsewhere he would get himself into all kinds of mischief.  When he was younger he would sit in the buggy with a snack & toy, he had a dummy back then so was pretty easy to pacify.  Now we let them pick a dvd which they keep especially for arrival at the campsite & they just stay in the car with doors open watching that with a snack - has worked so far.
