I have a lock and chain which i use to lock it to the car if we are going to go to a services etc because thats the most likely place it will be nicked

Once im at a site i wrongly tend to judge whether i feel it will need locking, we usually go out leaving a lcd dvd tv in there, and all other things, and rely on the honest camping community

I have the chain and lock tho and will lock it to something if i feel i need to

Gosh we always go to the services altogether and I do worry someone might nick it but then again thiefs can just take off the top (it's only the material type) and take whatever they want.  On site we try to hide it behind the tent and then fastern it to a tree/fence - but taking the wheel off is a good idea.

Sometimes we just have to try and trust people (I know its hard and it'll be just my luck my stuff will go walking).

we have a hitchlock and wheel clamp and the lid is lockable. but some sites we use have a secure entrance so have not worried to much about theft also you can buy ground anchors for securing the trailer with a padlock these screw into the ground and can't be unscrewed when the trailer hitch is padlocked to it.

On site, Trailer has hitchlock and wheel clamp.  Most of the sites we visit, if someone started up an angle grinder to remove security fixings, I'd like to think that other campers or site wardens would take an interest.

On journey stops - loo breaks are taken in shifts, with one of us staying with the car/trailer.

              The C&CC insurance is specific, they ask for Vin/Chassis number of your trailer and make model of Tent etc, I had a chat with them down at the NEC show on Thursday and for £100 a year for my rig, I think it's a fair deal, far cheaper than caravan insurance that's for sure, but there again caravans a worth a lot more than your average Trailer/Tent.

Never secured ours other than to lock other things to it.

We lock bikes to it when we're not using the bikes and the big roof rack thing to it even when we're using the bikes.

We also leave it in plain view of as many tents as possible so anyone messing with it has a chance of being seen by someone...

However, look on a campsite at 11am on a hot sunny summer day and there's not many people around...
