We tried Cornwall and France this year and enjoyed both - but the weather was better in France.
With the £ plumetting against the Euro we might end up in the UK for at least one of our weeks.
We missed our October half-term and Feb half-term holidays this year and OH got given 3 extra days as well so hoping we can do both as long as footie fixtures don't interfere.
I think we have the best of both worlds - I think once you start camping you realise that there are so many campsites and places of interest in this country but just not enough time. We also both enjoy driving so aren't daunted by the prospect of driving to and from Spain, Italy or France with our tent - plus I hate flying so it suits me perfectly. To be perfectly honest if the weather was a bit more reliable in Summer hols I wouldn't go anywhere else but I do like a bit of sun once a year - I don't miss a thing about package holidays though - I prefer to take my own accommodation!
I like the best of both worlds! My two weeks all inclusive lying on a beach but I equally enjoy my camping weekends away, me, hubby and the dog, a field, hopefully some sunshine, a comfy chair and a book, all this interspersed with long walks with the dog...bliss. If this country was warmer with more sunshine I probably wouldn't venture abroad, I'd much prefer to holiday somewhere I can take my doggy!
