We've been dusting off all our gear for a while but can't help ourselves buying more.... can't resist a bargain!! Can't wait for our first trip of the year to the New Forest at Easter

I have sorted all our gear, restacked it on the new shelving in the garage, brought a few more bits then re sorted it all again, any excuse just to have a look at it all. Last week i washed all the plates and cutlery and pans. Gave the suitcase stoves a good dunking in de-greaser they look like new.
Just ordered tonight the new Montana front awning, cant wait to get it all up and try it out.
First trip next weekend 27/28 march, taking my daughter and grand daughter so it will be great, destination Tenby i think. Better take the camera.

I'm washing at the moment - didn't bother washing all the sleeping kit last year as the weather was 'orrible by the time we didn't need to use it! So I'm getting it out now and going through it. Had to buy a few bits as DS will now sleeping in his own pod, he seems happy though as I bought him a fleece blanket with Bart Simpson on it.
We have chicken'd out of going away at Easter (I think) but it will mean I have time to actually go through all the equipment in the loft and shed. Besides I've managed to palm off our old tent to the local scouts so there's one less bag!
All I'm looking forward to is waking up and smelling the tent !!
Yep, sorted out the sheds last weekend and just about ready to go. Just gotta wait til April now. Another good thing is that D1 is going to start going on her own so now looking for new tent and gear for her. It's nearly as much fun as camping itself.
Don't know when I will get away this year..Car goes off the road next month (a lot needing done..and no spare pennies) But funnily enough I share your excitement at the approaching season...The smell of the tent..and the earth/grass 1st night away are a bigger high than any drug to me..Also that BBQ smell and the breakfast frying out side give me a big boost..I have done a little tent gear shifting lately(purely to check everything is OK) So I hope that counts on this thread......

had my tent up today to check it out before my first trip 16th april and have got the fuel for the trangia i got in november for my birthday. yup, cant wait!
Does anyone else think the smell of a BBQ or bacon frying sets off a chain reaction around a site??Or is that just me.. The smell of Bacon frying usually has me looking for the fry pan..There can be nothing worse on site when you smell bacon frying..and you remember you deciced NOT to bring any this time(or you've run out already!!) Thank goodness (in my case) for those wee campsite shops that carry a stock of bacon and eggs..or the ones near a village shop........

yes jelboy, love to take the suitcase stove to the beach on a sunday mornings off season, after walking the dogs have tea and bacon sandwiches. You can see people rushing to get home licking their lips after they get a waft of the smell!
