Love the alphabet tiles...problem is it would take ages for my wife to get them in the correct order.

Ive just been to Lidl this morning as I wanted a new camping parasol.  I've actually bought a roll of that green matting.  It would be great for the front of your tent Gilly as its actually more like a long roll of green doormat rather than grass - its def not the stuff like you would see in the green grocers.  My only concern with it would be using it again if it gets really mucky

They look quite good for inside the tent, instead of carpet, but maybe the cost would put me off.

I prefer the ones with holes for outside - allows the grass to carry on growing, tickling my toes...

Yes, I use one or two of the holey ones immediately outside the tent door for standing on to take shoes off. They do leave a mark on the pitch but far less damage than putting down something solid.

just been to lidls and bought the green matting .... we go tomorrow so it was a case of beggars cant be choosers i will take what i can..... i have to say though i am impressed with the 'grass' and i think it will probably wash with a yard brush when we get it home ........ my tent is still up in the garden (yes the one we are taking to france is still up soaking wet in the back garden)so i am off to cut a length so we dont have to take it all ......... i think my new crocs will look gorgeous on my new mat

I also bought 6 more rolls of the green matting from Lidl today - absolutely love it and now have 11 rolls of it!!!!!
It scrubs clean really well - if you can, leave it to dry and then hoover it to get the mud off and then I use 1001 carpet cleaner and a brush!!

What will the grass matting do to grass underneath it? Is it breathable at all?

No it's not breathable so will damage grass if left down for a long time.

I actually use mine inside the tent under the airbeds and the 6 new rolls are for the living area!!

It is amazingly warm and feels lovely on bare toes in the morning!!

Only down side is it's quite bulky but fortunatley we have a very large boot!!

Got these from Aldi last May (when their camping stuff goes on sale) for 9.99 for pack of six (bit cheaper than kampa ones and just as good imho.





Yes, if you are pitched for a week or longer, the grass will grow through but then there is no danger of puddling if it rains.

Nice and soft to walk on too - so can leave crocs well away from the door of tent - no constant tripping over them when going in and out
